Cover (Combination #268-73 + #C9 + #CE3 + #E11)

Extra-large supersized cover (28" x 12") containing the complete King George VI peace issue (#268-73), including the airmail #C9, the airmail special delivery #CE3 (Ê in EXPRÊS) and special delivery #E11. All the stamps were issued on the same day (September 16, 1946), but it is rare to find a complete cover that includes all the airmail and special delivery stamps!
Although "FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" was clearly printed on the cover, it appears it missed the date by two days, as the cancellations are dated (SP 18, 46)! This is very odd, as the cover also clearly indicates in red "CANCEL LIGHTLY PLEASE, PHILATELIC VALUE" (with the A printed on top of the S in PLEASE)!
It was also cancelled in the small town of Ponoka in Alberta (pop. 7,000 in 2021), which is pretty scarce for this kind of philatelic cover! There are some light stains and even though it is a late "first day", this is certainly one of the most interesting covers we have seen, very out of the ordinary!
PS: As a reference, a combination FDC for #268-73 is evaluated at $70, #C9 at $10, #CE3 at $25 and #E11 at $20!
