Description
Beginning on April 1st, 1930, the contract for the manufacture of Canadian postage stamps was awarded to the British North American Bank Note Company. This old-established firm had not manufactured Canadian postage stamps since March 1897. This change of contract necessitated the issue of a completely new series of stamps called the "Arch/Leaf issue" with the identical portraits of King George V on all the lower denominations.
