Canada Stamp #2053viii - Maple Leaf (2004) 49¢
Reprint with non-fluorescent orange ink, gutter strip of 4 stamps
SKU: CAN-2053VIII
Mint - Very Fine Never Hinged
(M-VFNH)
The much scarcer reprint of the imperforated 49¢ Maple Leaf coil definitive with non-fluorescent orange ink! As stated in the catalogue, all versions of #2053 (except #2053vii-viii) were printed with orange ink that fluoresces under UV light! There exists a small handful of similar fluorescent/non-fluorescent ink varieties in the catalogue (not many), but this is definitely one of the best examples and for the price, it is a great complement for any collection!
This is also a gutter strip of four with five coloured Maple Leafs in the middle, which occurred only once every 10 stamps in the original coils! It is worth a significative premium and with its high catalogue value of $80, it is a very attractive item for advanced collectors!
