Canada Stamp #711a - Lady's Slipper (1978) 10¢

Have you ever heard of a stamp with a facial value of zero from the country named "ANADA"?!? Errors can produce some pretty amusing results sometimes and on this stamp it is particularly striking!

But there is more, as there is also a dramatic double printing of the inscriptions, but it was engraved without ink (ghost print)! It is especially notable at the upper left corner, on the right of the "0" facial value, the embossing for "10" is clearly visible (it is also present around "CANADA")!

What is even more puzzling is that the ghost inscriptions are located exactly where they should be if the stamp was not misperforated. Did the printer try, in a rush, to "correct" the perforation error by reprinting the inscriptions in their appropriate locations, but forgot to add the ink?

This perforation shift also results in a single large bar of GT2 tagging on the right! We have seen many fantastic errors throughout the years, but we feel this one is a bit special!
